Quebec Rebates 2026

Rénoclimat Quebec 2026: How to Apply & Get Up to $3,500

Updated May 2026 · Verified current

Quebec's Rénoclimat program is still active in 2026 and accepting new applications. It offers grants up to $3,500 for homeowners who improve their home's energy performance through insulation, heat pumps, air sealing, windows, HRV ventilation, and home energy audits. Unlike some other provincial programs, Rénoclimat has no set end date.

Note: The Canada Greener Homes Grant ended its federal co-delivery with Rénoclimat on October 1, 2025. The provincial Rénoclimat program itself remains fully active with its own funding through Transition énergétique Québec.

What Does Rénoclimat Cover?

UpgradeFinancial Assistance
Insulation (attic, walls, basement)Based on energy improvement
Air sealing / weatherstrippingBased on energy improvement
Heat pump installationBased on energy improvement
HRV / ERV ventilationBased on energy improvement
Windows and doorsBased on energy improvement

The total assistance amount depends on how much your home's EnerGuide rating improves. Grants are not fixed per measure — the bigger the energy improvement, the larger the grant, up to the $3,500 maximum.

Who Qualifies?

Step-by-Step: How to Apply

  1. Register online at Quebec.ca Rénoclimat page
  2. Book a pre-retrofit energy evaluation with a Rénoclimat-certified energy advisor — they come to your home, do a blower door test, and produce an evaluation report
  3. Do not start any renovation work until the pre-retrofit evaluation is complete
  4. Review the evaluation report and plan your upgrades with a qualified contractor
  5. Complete the energy efficiency renovations
  6. Book a post-retrofit evaluation with the same or another certified advisor
  7. Submit your application with all documentation
  8. Receive your grant cheque 10–12 weeks after the post-work evaluation
⚠️ Most common mistake: Starting renovation work before the pre-retrofit evaluation is done. If work has already begun when the advisor arrives, your home is ineligible. Book the evaluation first.

Stacking Rénoclimat With Quebec's EV Rebate

Quebec homeowners can stack Rénoclimat for home upgrades with the Roulez vert EV rebate (up to $4,000) and the federal EVAP rebate (up to $5,000) for EV purchases. These programs are completely independent of each other.

What About LogisVert?

Hydro-Québec's LogisVert program offers instant rebates for specific equipment like heat pumps and thermostats — without the full energy evaluation process that Rénoclimat requires. For simple equipment swaps, LogisVert may be faster. For comprehensive retrofits, Rénoclimat provides higher total assistance.
